Hirta Mitts

These mitts let you hold celtic cables in the palms of your hands. A single knot graces the outside edge of each hand; complete on its own or when paired with the other mitt.

Materials: 128 (149, 180) yds [117 (136, 165) m] worsted to Aran- weight yarn – comparable commercial yarn: Peace Fleece worsted or other smooth woolen yarn
Yarn Details: 2-ply Border Leister / Romney Lamb wool hand-spun, 9-10wpi.
Needles: US4 [3.5 mm] DPNs; cable needle
Gauge: 18 stitches and 24 rows per 4” square in stockinette
Finished Sizes: 6.5 (7.5, 8.5)” [16.5(19, 21.5) cm] around hand.
Other: stitch markers, tapestry needle for darning, sewing hems
