This simple 2-color shawlette features easy lace bands with a deeper lace border, inspired by the cracking ice fissures and crevasses in icebergs. The shawl is a slightly elongated semi-circular shape, which is easy to wear and knits up quickly with fingering-weight yarn.

Materials: About 365 yds [334 m] of fingering-weight yarn (MC); 100 yds [91 m] in CC.
Yarn Details: Main color (MC) is spun from 4 oz of hand-painted merino wool from FatCatKnits, Angel colorway). Contrast color was spun from 2 oz of a coordinating merino/silk roving from The Copper Moth Logwood colorway. Both are 2-ply yarns, semi-woolen, approximately 14 wpi with 375 yards per 4 oz. – 1500 ypp.
Needles: US6 [4.0mm] 24” [60 cm] circulars.
Gauge: 4-1/2 stitches per inch in stockinette after blocking.
Finished Size: 56” [142 cm] wingspan x 21” [53 cm] depth
Other: tapestry needle for darning ends; stitch markers.
