Handknit socks for men can be a challenge.
Most men do not want lace, all over cables, or colorwork, things that are enjoyable to knit. Men usually want socks that are simple, dark, and long which can leave a knitter wondering, “When will it ever end?”
This pattern keeps the overall design simple while throwing in some diamond clocks to keep the knitter awake. The leg is long so as not to show any ankle when the wearer is sitting down, a Band Heel is used to keep the lines smooth when worn with loafers, and an additional bit of patterning at the toe to help celebrate the approaching finish line.
