This set of colorwork mittens features a Celtic braid motif on the cuff, a unique triskele design for the back of the hand, and a couched diamond pattern on the palm. This pattern is great for using up small amounts of light fingering-weight yarn in your stash. Each pair takes less than 2 ounces per color of fiber.

Triskele Mittens knitting pattern

Materials: Approximately 200 yds [183 m] of light fingering-weight yarn in each of two colors (MC &CC).
Yarn Details: A 2-ply hand-spun wool yarn, spun semi-woolen from BFL roving. Approximately 210 yds [192 m] per 2 oz [56 g], 1680 ypp, 28 wpi. Suggested yarn substitutions would be Jamieson’s Spindrift or Harrisville Shetland.
Needles: US2 [2.75 mm] DPNs.
Gauge: 8 stitches per inch over stranded stitch pattern for mitts.
Finished Sizes: 7.5” [19 cm] around (to fit an average woman’s hand).
Other: tapestry needle for darning ends; you will also need a small length of waste yarn for thumb; stitch markers.
